What was the project?

What comes to mind when you think of Palestine? The rich culture, and the people that live there? Or a long troubled history that’s too complicated to understand? We worked with Makan to produce this explainer video, diving in to the story of the Palestinian struggle against colonialism.

Makan were keen to set this apart from other similar videos on the subject by telling the story through the lens of colonialism. Mixing a range of media including animation, data viz, photos and videos, and drawing both on historical and contemporary materials, the animation offers a short ‘101’ style introduction to the challenges faced by Palestinians.
